# Related research fields

There are different research fields in computer science and applied
mathematics that deal with images and which are related to image
processing. In particular, we can differentiate between imaging (the
transformation of data into an image), computer vision (the
transformation of an image into a model), computer graphics (the
transformation of a model into an image), and image processing (the
transformation from an image into another image). These relationships
can be summarized in the following overview:
